HYSTERIA – broadcast live on Radio 3, 3rd December 2012

BBC Concert Orchestra presents Hysteria

From the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Charles Hazlewood, delved into the depths of the human psyche, playing with fear, anxiety, disturbance and madness. The programme featured Patrick Nunn’s arrangement of Muse’s hit song Hysteria, and a new work by Jocelyn Pook, inspired by her great-aunt’s diaries about her life in an asylum.

A poised and pellucid performance of Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire under Charles Hazlewood’s meticulous direction.
