'We formed the lyric theatre company, DDK by auditioning all over South Africa. There is incredible vocal talent and musicality out there. Very few of our players were classically trained, many of them were out of work or had ordinary jobs like washing cars before they joined. But 2 years later they not only wowed London with the Mysteries but made a film of Bizet's 'Carmen' that won the best film at the Berlin Film Festival.'
